No Tracking Update? Here’s What’s Normal
24–48 Hours Completely Normal
For domestic Speed Post, Registered Post, and Express Parcel, a 1–2 day gap between scans is normal during inter-city road or rail transit. Articles are only scanned at sorting facilities, not while in transit between them.
48–72 Hours (International EMS) Normal
For EMS International, a 2–3 day gap after “Aircraft Take Off” or “OTB” scan is normal the parcel is in sealed bags on an aircraft and will not scan until it reaches the destination exchange office.
5+ Business Days Take Action
If domestic tracking shows no update for 5+ business days, or international shows nothing for 7+ days after OTB, call India Post helpline at 1800-266-6868 and file a complaint at indiapost.gov.in consumer portal.
