The simplest way to find your parcel is tci express tracking on the company’s official portal, where every consignment is identified by a 9-digit docket number (also called the DWB number). TCI Express — one of India’s largest express logistics companies, with 900+ company-owned centres and 28 automated sorting hubs — scans every shipment from booking to final delivery. This guide gives you the tracking steps, the docket number format, every tracking status explained, and fixes for the three most common problems: status not updating, invalid docket errors, and shipments stuck in transit.

How to Track Your TCI Express Shipment Online
The official tracking page shows booking details, delivery details and transshipment scans. You can also track several consignments at once by entering multiple docket numbers separated by commas. Follow these steps:
- Find your docket number: the 9-digit DWB number on the consignment note, booking receipt or booking SMS.
- Open the official tracking page: the TCI Express tracking page on tciexpress.in.
- Enter the docket number: type it exactly as printed, without spaces. Separate multiple numbers with commas.
- Click Submit: the page displays the full shipment history — booking information, transshipment scans with dates and times, delivery information, and an image copy of the DWB note you can cross-check.
- Note the estimated delivery date: recheck after a few hours if the last scan is old — new scans appear as the consignment crosses each hub.
If you track parcels from several carriers, our universal package tracker keeps multi-carrier lookups in one place, and our courier tracking hub lists every carrier guide we maintain.
Understanding Your TCI Express Docket Number Format
Every TCI Express consignment gets a unique docket number — the DWB (Docket Waybill) number — at booking time:
- 9 numeric digits: a typical number looks like 682553476 or 362992943 — nine digits, all numeric, no letters.
- Where to find it: beneath the barcode on the consignment note, on the booking receipt, and usually in the booking SMS.
- Bulk tracking: the official tool accepts several docket numbers at once, separated by commas — handy for businesses tracking daily dispatches.
- Docket vs reference number: some shippers use their own reference numbers, but only the TCI Express DWB/docket number works on the official tracker. If your sender gave a different reference, ask them for the TCI Express docket number.
- Not the same as TCI Freight: other Transport Corporation of India group businesses use different formats. A docket that fails on the TCI Express tracker may belong to a different TCI division — see the division guide below.
TCI Express Tracking Statuses Explained
Each scan marks a physical event in your shipment’s journey. Here is what the common statuses mean:
- Docket Generated / Booked: booked at the origin branch; the number is active and the consignment is staged for hub dispatch.
- Inward at Origin Hub: arrived at the sorting hub, weighed, barcoded and loaded onto a containerised linehaul vehicle.
- In Transit: moving between cities by truck, train or air. The package is travelling normally.
- Inward at Destination Hub: arrived at the destination hub and sorted for the local delivery branch.
- Out for Delivery: loaded on the delivery vehicle, heading to the receiver’s address.
- Delivered: handed over and signed for. An electronic Proof of Delivery (e-POD) is generated — inspect the goods and download it.
- Undelivered / Delivery Attempted: could not be delivered — premises closed, receiver unavailable, or address needing verification. Usually re-attempted the next working day.
- Door Locked: the recipient’s door was locked during the visit. Delivery is normally attempted again the next working day.
- Pending: movement is paused — for example, customs clearance or a contents check. Short pending spells clear on their own.
- Return to Sender: undeliverable after attempts; being sent back to the consignor.
- Not Found: no record for the number. Recheck the digits, or wait if the docket was created very recently.
Tracking Not Updating? Troubleshooting Common Problems
1. Status not updating for a day or more
No new scan for 24–48 hours is usually normal. A consignment on a long linehaul leg may show no events until the vehicle reaches the next hub. Give it two working days past the last scan before worrying. If the estimated delivery date has passed, contact support with the docket number.
2. “Invalid docket” or no-result errors
Re-enter the number without spaces and confirm all nine digits against the consignment note — one mistyped digit produces a no-result. A docket booked minutes ago may not be registered yet, so retry after a few hours. If it still fails, check you are tracking the right company: TCI Express numbers do not work on the freight divisions’ tools and vice versa. Our TCI Express customer care guide lists the numbers to call when a genuine docket is untraceable.
3. Shipment stuck in transit or on pending
“In Transit” longer than expected usually means route backlogs or weather — it moves once the bottleneck clears. “Pending” normally clears within a day or so; beyond three days, call support, since it can signal a customs hold or verification needing your input. International consignments can sit at customs for several working days with no visible updates.
How Long Does TCI Express Delivery Take?
Delivery time depends on the service booked and the origin–destination corridor. Domestic Air Express is the fastest option — the company advertises 24–48 hour door-to-door movement between major hubs, but treat this as indicative since cut-off times and congestion change daily. Surface Express, the core containerised road service, takes longer and suits heavier commercial cargo. International Express consignments add customs clearance at both ends, so allow several extra working days. Your most reliable guide is the estimated delivery date on the tracking page itself, because it reflects your consignment’s service, route and current position.
TCI Express vs Other TCI Divisions: Don’t Track the Wrong Company
TCI Express Limited is an independent, publicly listed express cargo company under the Transport Corporation of India group — it handles express parcels and cargo through surface, air, rail, cold-chain and international express services. The wider TCI group runs separate businesses with separate tracking systems, including TCI Freight (truckload freight), TCI Seaways (coastal shipping) and TCI Supply Chain Solutions (contract logistics). If your consignment note says “TCI Freight” or “TCI Supply Chain” instead of “TCI Express”, use that division’s own tracking tool — a TCI Express docket search will not find it. Match the brand on your booking receipt to the tracker you use.

It is the 9-digit docket (DWB) number on the consignment note, booking receipt and usually the booking SMS. Enter it on the official tracking page to see booking, transit and delivery scans.
Can I track multiple TCI Express consignments at once?
Yes. The official tool accepts several docket numbers in one search — enter them separated by commas and click Submit to view all shipments together.
Why is my tci express tracking status stuck on “In Transit”?
